Belts Bonanza

I have been a one woman belt production line the last few days, making elastic bow belts for the shop I sell through in London, Mnini. They are taking part in a Carnaby Street event with Grazia magazine and thought my belts would be a good seller on the day. The bows are made from a mixture of all the leftovers of fabrics from dresses I've made, so nothing goes to waste. Waist belts are always a fabulous option for putting over dresses, tops or cardis and these ones will definitely brighten up any outfit. Anyone in London should head over Carnaby Street way on the 12th November and have a wander round the shops there, think there is a bit of a discount on offer as well.

Sneaky Peeks

So I am finally getting round to finishing my Autumn/Winter collection after starting it over 2 months ago. It seems making wedding dresses and doing workshops have taken over the last couple of months of my life but now I am getting to the end of them and get to go back to the creative side. I am doing my photoshoot this Sunday, again with the fabulous Paul Marr and will, I am pretty damn certain, get some beautiful shots. I thought I would put a couple of sneaky peeks on of some detail shots of a couple of dresses with more to follow once the shoot is all done and dusted. As usual there are dresses and patterns and colour galore, especially with the fabulous vintage fabrics i was so lucky to gain from Mrs Tutton whose gorgeous vintage gowns are now in full resplendency in Godiva waiting to be snapped up by some lucky fashionista.

I've had a couple of days holiday away from the dungeon and been in my other favourite land - the world of shoes. I started doing the visual merchandising for the fabulous shoe boutique - Pam Jenkins - early this year. I now do the odd day working for Pam in the shop which allows me to indulge my love of shoes, shoes, shoes and especially ones that there is no hope of me owning. For my window displays I have complete creative freedom but all have to be done within a limited budget. I thought I would share with you some of the displays I have done so far.

Noir Fashion Show

The fabulous and fashionable were out in force last night at the Noir fashion show held in The Green Room (The old ego) on Picardy place. Organised by Jonathon Freemantle the show was aiming to highlight the diverse and interesting fashion that was available in Edinburgh and indeed it did exactly that. I was showing some new and old collection pieces with Godiva, Totty Rocks were showing their new collection and other independent boutiques clad their models in gorgeous autumn/winter pieces. We had the gorgeous Diana from Colours Agency modelling in some super high heels that even I wouldn't dare to attempt walking in. She looked fabulous in all 6 outfits and I was extremely excited to see my new pieces in action and incredibly happy with the positive response from the Noir crowd. It was a fabulous night in a gorgeous venue, hopefully the first of many.

Im sat watching Mark dispensing some rather uninspiring fashion advice with Lorraine on GMTV so I thought I would share some of the made to measure dresses I have been making for the lovely customers that have been coming in to Godiva of late. My made to measure range has been up and running for 6 months now and I have been thoroughly enjoying making some gorgeous (if i do say so myself) creations for all sorts of ladies and events. Lesley was looking for a grecian style dress for her school leavers ball and the full length Kat dress with some detailing on the bodice was exactly what she was looking for. Lesley chose one of my favourite colours, a beautiful teal with a gold highlight waistband for the dress and it all came together beautifully for a fabulously unique ballgown. Yurika needed an alternative dress for her wedding day and as soon as she saw my Anna dress that was the one. Made in a lovely cream and gold brocade with a cheeky sequin detail on the top, I think this makes for a perfect wedding dress. So if you are looking for a fabulous, unique dress for any event come in to the shop for a chat, i will be downstairs in my dungeon as usual, and your dress dreams may well just come true.
