The Vintage Wedding Show - Sunday 4th March

This week is proving a busy one on the Bridal side of Rowanjoy and I am rather loving it all. After the excitement of Tuesdays shoot the next event in the calender is the Vintage Wedding Show. This is a brand new wedding fair in Edinburgh and I am super-excited to be part of it. I am going to be sharing a stand with my fabulous friends from Strumpet hats and there will be a whole host of vintage inspired wedding suppliers set up in the magnificent location of Mansfield Traquair.

Hope to see some of you lovely Edinburgh brides to be there.

An epic wedding shoot day out.

It was an early rise for me yesterday as the day had finally arrived for the Epic wedding shoot. We have been planning this shoot for several weeks now and it was so exciting to finally get to the grand finale so the pain of waking up at 4.30am was definitely eased by the thought of the day ahead. The location was the stunning Ardkinglas in Argyll, which happens to be on my route home to Mum and Dad's so the journey was very familiar to me and thankfully made it easy to navigate at that time in the morning.

The view from the house over Loch Fyne

It was a typical Scottish day when we got there, misty and drizzly, which gave Ardkinglas a romantic, eerie atmosphere but meant most of our plans for shooting outside were abandoned. This didnt prove a problem as the house itself was a labyrinth of grand and stunning rooms which gave more than enough scope for what we had planned. The rooms were filled to the brim with antiques, curiosities, books and endless props which added to the props brought by the team meant our imaginations could run wild.

The team itself was pretty massive and amazing, everyone brought something special to the day.

Phew! I am pretty sure I havent forgotten anyone apart from our 3 fabulous couples who so kindly took a long day off from their lives for us to dress them up and make them pose and who were altogether awesome.

London Fashion Week A/W 12 - My Favourite looks

I have been loving looking at all the shows from London Fashion Week over the last few days especially watching some live streamed shows. So I thought I would share some of my favourite looks from the shows.

Erdem

Erdem is my absolute favourite designer at the moment and this collection didnt disappoint. It was Lace, painterly prints and colour galore, I loved it and want about 10 of the dresses.

Temperley

I loved the Russian influence, embroidery and embellishments it was a gorgeous collection from start to finish.

Giles
Giles had a wonderful story behind his collection of a country house catching fire(ok maybe not wonderful) and its occupants running out into the snow grabbing what they could on the way out. The burnt edges of the fabric, the tapestry prints and laser cut rose thorn stems easily evoked the scene he created.

McQ

These 2 dresses were my ultimate favourites from the whole of fashion week, if i could have anything as gorgeous as them I would be very happy.

Meadham Kirchoff

Meadham Kirchoff's collection was a glorious technicolour, sequinned explosion of disco and glam rock. I watched it on the live stream and loved everything about it, it put a big smile on my face. My favourites were the brightly coloured fur coats which look perfect for cheering you up on a miserable grey winters day.

Yesterday was the photoshoot for my new Spring/Summer collection and we were trying to channel some  tropical summer sun on a grey February afternoon. The fabulous team from my last Autumn/Winter shoot were back together including our gorgeous model Ashleigh and I think the results are going to bring some well needed sun into our lives. Thankyou to the most wonderful team as always you absolutely rocked the shoots socks off.
